Ghost in Hospital

Riwayat Hotel Terseram Di Dunia (Haunted Hotel)

1. Hotel Crescent

Crescent Hotel

Guests have reported sightings and other odd happenings in a number of guest rooms, the lobby, dining room and the grounds of this great historic hotel in Haunted Eureka Springs.

You don't need to stay in a haunted room to see a real ghost at the Crescent Hotel. Outside of the Recreation Room, the ghost of Dr. Norman Baker often appears, looking a bit confused. He ran a controversial hospital and health resort in the building during the 1930s. Many people believe honestly that the spring water that flows underneath the hotel is high in energy and it attracts ghostly apparitions. Is this just a publicity gimmick to help a failing hotel? It could be, but actually the hotel was starting to do well before the ghosts were sighted.

The Crystal Dining Room of the Crescent Hotel is particularly active, and many spirits in Victorian garb hve been spotted there at the tables or in the mirrors. Once, at Christmastime, the staff reported leaving a Christmas tree and presents at one end of the locked and empty Crystal Dining Room. Upon their return, the staff found the tree and presents moved to the other end of the room, and chairs facing the tree in a semi-circle.

The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa has a rich and fascinating history. Read about some of the earliest accounts from these stories taken from the Eureka Springs Times Echo, one of Eureka Springs' early newspapers which is still in existence today and some fascinating information on Dr. Norman Baker, one time owner of the Crescent Hotel who ran a "Cancer Hospital" in his "Castle in the Air".

Please also see www.crescent-hotel.com/history.htm

The hotel was designed by the architect Isaac L. Taylor in 1886.It was used as a hotel for several years before it could no longer sustain itself financially.

In 1908, the hotel was opened as the Crescent College and Conservatory for Young Women. Soon it couldn't afford to stay open as a school either. The school closed in 1924 and then reopened from 1930 to 1934 as a junior college.
The Crescent was leased as a summer hotel after the school closed. In 1937, it got a new owner.Norman Baker turned the place into a hospital and health resort. Baker was an inventor and had made millions of dollars by 1934.Baker wasn't happy just inventing things because he thought of himself as a doctor (even though he had no medical training). He claimed to have discovered a number of "cures" for various ailments, including cancer. He was sure that organized medicine was conspiring against him. He had recently been ran out of Iowa for practicing medicine without a license.

Baker moved his cancer patients to Arkansas and he advertised the health resort. The "cure" was basically drinking the natural spring water. No one was really harmed by this, but it wasn't really the advertised "miracle cure". Federal charges were filed against him for mail fraud and he spent four years in prison. The Crescent Hotel was left ownerless.

The hotel stayed closed until 1946 when new investors took it over and began trying to restore this odd and historical piece of Ozark history.

Many strange sounds and apparitions fill this hotel day and well into the nights. Documented by many amateur ghost hunters and professional paranormal investigators alike the documentation and haunted tales continue to grow.

From a woman's ghost carrying her young child's blanket and crying in the night.

In the lobby of the Crescent Hotel, look for the ghost of a man who hangs out at the lobby bar or stands at the foot of the staircase

A tall handsome bearded man that knocks on all the doors. and asks "are You Waiting for me?" Some Ghost hunters tell many strange tales but all have said that blankets and sheets often are ripped savagely from the bed as one tries to get some shut eye.

A number of rooms are haunted in the historic Crescent Hotel. Room 218 is the spot where Michael, an Irish stonemason, landed when he fell from the hotel's roof during construction. His ghost is said to bang on the walls and turn the lights and television on and off. Rooms 202 and 424 of the Crescent Hotel are also said to be haunted by him.

A nurse, dressed in a white uniform, has been seen on the third floor of the Crescent Hotel. A woman in Room 419 introduces herself as a cancer patient to guests and housekeepers, then vanishes.

One recent staffers haunted ghost tale of tells of a young man in his teens that collapses and disappears on the floor. A group of teens getting ready to take a ghost tour of the Crescent Hotel recently reported seeing a man carrying a tray of butter and dressed in a uniform similar to the waiter's uniforms. He followed them out of an elevator and towards their third floor room, where he seemed to disappear. A third girl at the room opened the door and saw him staring directly at all of them.

All this make a truly Haunted Arkansas hotel.

Haunted 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

During the 1930's the hotel was used as an experimental cancer hospital. "Dr." Norman Baker claimed to be a licensed physician and charged families their life savings for treatments. Several apparitions from the hospital visit the hotel today. "Dr." Baker has been seen in the hotel lobby wearing a purple shirt and white linen suit. A nurse pushing a gurney has been seen in the old morgue area.

The Crescent Hotel has so many ghost stories to tell that the hotel gives ghost tours.

History of the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

"The Grand Old Lady of the Ozarks" was constructed by Irish stone masons. The hotel was built to be the grandest hotel west of the Mississippi. The newly completed railroad brought thousands of tourists to use the local springs for recuperative health treatments.

The palatial hotel attracted the elite "Carriage Set". The hotel was outfitted with 100 horses that provided a steed for everyone to ride.

The hotel had different uses over the years. For a period of time it was used as an all girls school.

In the 1930's it was a cancer hospital which closed in 1940. Dr.Norman Baker portrayed himself as a crusader as he railed against the exploitation of the common man. In truth, Dr. Norman Baker was a vaudevillian performer selling an elixir that was a formula containing glycerin, carbolic acid and alcohol mixed with tea from water melon seed, brown corn silk and clover leaves. "Dr.:" Baker was not a doctor at all, but a slick snake oil salesman draining the most vulnerable people of their life savings. The result of his quackery was that many cancer patients lost their lives under his "treatment". Baker was sentenced to four years in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary in 1940. Many of the spirits at the hotel are believed to be patients of the quack.

The hotel was closed from 1940 to 1946, during the World War II years. Three new Chicago investors purchased the hotel in 1946 and restored it to its original hotel appearance.

A fire destroyed most of the fourth floor in 1967. In the 1970's and 1980's the quaint Victorian appearance of the hotel was discovered by national and international tourists.

The hotel was purchased by historic preservationists Martin & Elise Roegnik, in 1997. Mover that $5 million has been invested in renovations in the hotel with views of the Ozark Mountains. The New Moon Spa combines ancient and contemporary methods of invigoration, healing and relaxation. The Crystal Dining Room is th hotel restaurant.

2. Queen Mary Hotel

“The Grey Ghost” untuk menyebrangi Atlantik demi menjalankan misi perang.

QUEEN MARY

Bigger than the Titanic, The Queen Mary was the pride of the Cunard Lines. She carried many distinguished guests, and during WWII was converted to carry troops to the front. It was during one of these troop carrying missions that one of the most horrific episodes of her history occurred. On October 2, 1942 the Queen Mary was rounding Ireland on the last leg of her journey. At this time, she was joined by the HMS Curacoa and 6 destroyers as she was within Luftwaffe range. The Queen Mary was zig zagging in her course to make it difficult for U-boats in the area to target her. Because of the zig zag pattern, the Curacoa and the destroyers were told to stay ahead of the Queen Mary. The turbulence from all of the ships made a heavy wash and forced the ships to make minor adjustments in their courses.

Down in engine and fire rooms of the Queen Mary, a slight bump was felt. No one thought anything of it as the ship was unscathed and kept on its course. The "bump" was the HMS Curacoa. The slight change in course caused the Queen Mary to nudge the Curacoa's stern, sending the ship into the path of the massive ocean liner. Because the orders were to continue on no matter what, the Queen Mary did not stop and snapped the HMS Curacoa in two. Of 439 men aboard 338 were lost.

In October of 1967, The Queen Mary made her way to Long Beach, CA where she was going to be converted into a floating hotel. During the transition between ship and hotel, strange things began happening.

3. Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast

Arwah

Andrew Borden

On August 4, 1892, the bodies of Andrew Borden, 70, and Abby Borden, 65, were found in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Andrew's corpse lay on the living room couch, his face cut by eleven blows. It was his daughter, Lizzie, who found him. She was thirty-two and living at home. The only other person in the house was the maid, Bridget Sullivan.

Lizzie sent Bridget for the doctor, claiming that she had gone into the barn, leaving the back door unlocked. Whoever had murdered her father, she said, must have come in that way. It wasn't long before a neighbor offering to help found Lizzie's stepmother dead upstairs, also from some eighteen to twenty blows with an ax.

The Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast
The Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast

The home at 92 Second Street opened in 1996 as a Bed & Breakfast. It has since changed hands, but still offers lodgings, tours, a gift shop...and then some. With help from crime scene photos, the house was made to resemble its condition on that August morning.

Lizzie, the prime suspect, went through a trial and was actually acquitted. Fall River folks like to say she got a fair trial, but crime buffs know that the most damning evidence, such as her attempt to purchase prussic acid the day before and her inconsistent statements under interrogation, was never admitted. It's common to find people who believe that Lizzie's defense attorneys outmaneuvered the prosecution and freed a killer. By Katherine Ramsland

4. The Old Spot Hotel

“The Old Spot Hotel” merupakan bangunan pertama yang dibangun oleh kota
Gawler, Australia bagian Selatan tahun 1980. Bangunan itu lalu dijadikan
tempat perkantoran dengan berbagai aktifitas bisnis. Setelah beberapa tahun

Spot Hotel Ghost Photo (Scott Pearson)

THE OLD SPOT HOTEL, GAWLER, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The above photograph was taken by Scott Pearson, who is a professional photographer.
He admits to being able to "feel" the presence of ghosts.
Scott shared the following story about the above amazingly spooky photo:

"Years ago my brother and his wife and kids moved into a hotel in Gawler, South Australia, a small town north of Adelaide. After carrying out renovations on the building that was built in 1836, strange things started to happen, people started to hear strange things and see the apparition of a small girl and an older man. Being a skeptic I didn't believe it until my brother started to see things as well. All the stories from different people were the same so I got interested, and being a photographer (Weddings etc.) I thought I would have a go at getting something on film. A friend and I stayed in the hotel all night in the section which used to be the Gawler morgue last century before it was turned into a hotel. It was very eerie and I could feel the presence of the spirits or what ever you call them. It was so strong a feeling that it is hard to describe. This photo was taken on 3,200iso speed Kodak TMax film B&W. I also tried inferred film without much success. After developing the film I had a quick look at it and didn't think I had captured anything until a week or so later when I was doing some testing in the dark room and I noticed a negative which looked different than the rest. I made a copy and could not believe it. I then took a copy to every photo expert I could find and they all said it was unexplainable. After the initial carry on about it, we decided to throw them in a draw and forget about it until the local Gawler paper "The Bunyip" contacted me 4 or 5 years later In March 1998."

The photo has been since featured in many newspapers and different Television shows throughout Australia.

5. Hotel Del Coronado

Hotel mewah bergaya Victoria ini terletak disebrang pelabuhan San Diego,
California. Hotel ini kerap disambangi tamu-tamu terkenal seperti Thomas
Edison, L. Frank Baum, Charlie Chaplin, Charles Lindbergh, presiden-presiden
Morgan Tewas bunuh diri. Hantu Morgan pun sering muncul dihadapan para tamu
Hotel Del Coronado.

The very haunted Hotel Coronado, located just outside haunted San Diego, has a ghostly tale of unrequited love. Employee's, workers and guests have been puzzled by odd noises, spirited breezes, strange faces and the ghostly figure of a young lady wearing a black lace dress.

Rising from water's edge on the quaint island of Coronado in San Diego , the Hotel del Coronado is considered one of America 's most beautiful beach resorts.
A classic historic hotel, The Del was built in 1888 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Today, The Del offers travelers contemporary luxury in an enchanting Victorian atmosphere. Add to this, the resort's beachfront location, and it's no wonder USA Today calls The Del "one of the top ten resorts in the world."

The Del offers a quintessential Southern California resort experience. For those seeking a romantic retreat, the resort's magical architecture and island setting are perfect. In fact, the Travel Channel rated The Del the number one wedding destination in America . The Del is also a wonderful family vacation destination, featuring abundant recreation, as well as, seasonal teen and children's programs. And, for getting down to business, meeting and incentive planners can work with over 65,000 feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and exhibition space.

The most well-known legend and ghost story told is that of it's ghost Kate Morgan, who checked into the hotel in 1892 to meet her estranged husband.

He never showed up, and days later she was found dead on the beach from a gunshot wound. Some believe her lost lonely spirit still haunts the hotel, and there have been ghostly cold spots, numerous reports of noises, odd breezes in closed rooms and sightings of more then one ghosts.

A recent tale tells when President Ford visited, one of his Secret Service agents complained of odd noises. He was staying in Morgan's room.

Room 3502 has since been described as a "classic haunting." Parapsychologists, using scientific methods, has found 37 abnormalities in one day. Honeymooner's and guest love this hotel for it's ambiance and charm. And of course the hauntings.

6.The Stanley Hotel

Keangkeran terjadi ketika sang pemilik hotel Freelan O. Stanley dan istrinya
meninggal dunia. Mereka benar-benar mencintai hotel sehingga setelah meninggal

Stanley Hotel

This haunted hotel inspired Steven King to write "The Shining" while he stayed in room 217, but it is room 418 that reports the most ghostly activity.

There is no "red rum" in the haunted Stanley Hotel and Conference Center in the Rockies, but it is the place where Stephen King wrote half of "The Shining". The made-for-TV version of the film was shot at the Stanley, and King fans should book Room 217, which is where he stayed. It seems that strange haunted paranormal things were happening at the Stanley long before King came.

The hotel, which opened in 1909, is supposedly haunted by Flora Stanley, the wife of the owner, who likes to play the piano late at night. Her ghost is said to be very visible and a high profile haunting.

People who have stayed in Room 408 reported hearing children playing and laughing loudly outside their door, when getting up to investigate there weren't any. They also say they have left the room for a few seconds only to return and find the entire room in a dismay. And hand prints of small children on the mirrors.

Another staff member tells us of a guest, A true King fan to the end. He tells of a face, related the staff member, like that of a large dog like creature in the mirror that watched him, and yes he took a paranormal photo of it. Others tell of faucets turing on in the middle of the night, toilets flushing, and personal objects flung across the room by ghostly hands. Ghost Photos happen here all the time they say, especially when it snows.

STANLTY HOTEL GHOST PHOTO FROM GARY JAMISON

STANLEY HOTEL GHOST PHOTO FROM GARY JAMISON

If you are a Stephen King fan, request room 217. It was in this room that King, inspired by the Stanley Hotel, wrote half of "The Shining." The ABC miniseries was filmed at the Stanley Hotel as well.

The Stanley Hotel Haunting, the ghosts in the Stanley Hotel aren't evil as in the book. Room 418 seems to have the most ghostly activity reported. In fact, the entire fourth floor of the Stanley Hotel (formerly the servants quarters) is quite active. Often, the sound of children playing in the halls of the Stanley can be heard, even when no children are present.

The Stanleys: The Stanley Hotel's original owners, F.O. and Flora Stanley, are said to haunt the hotel as well. Mr Stanley plays the piano in the music room, and frequents the billards room and the lobby.

Ghosts caught on tape - very scary

World's Most Shocking Moments Caught On Tape 2

some of the most extreme moments ever captured on tape! From WMSM Video 1 to new stuff from this one!

The World's-Shocking Moments

Cruel Woman

Bahkan pamannya, Stepehen kemudian menjadi Raja Polandia.

Elizabeth yg marah kemudian menampar gadis malang tsb.

Nasib mereka semuanya sama, diikat diatas bak mandi kemudian urat nadi mereka dipotong hingga darah mereka menetes habis kedalam bak mandi tsb. Elizabeth seringkali berendam didalam kolam darah sambil menyaksikan gadis yg jadi korbannya sekarat meneteskan darah hingga tewas.
Sesekali Elizabeth bahkan meminum darah para gadis tsb untuk mendapatkan 'INNERBEAUTY'.
Lama kelamaan Elizabeth merasa bahwa darah para gadis desa tsb masih kurang baginya. Demi mendapat darah yg lebih 'berkualitas', Elizabeth kemudian mengincar darah para gadis bangsawan rendahan.
Dia kemudian melakukan banyak penculikan thd gadis2 bangsawan utk dijadikan korbannya.

Dibagian penjara ditemukan belasan gadis yg sedang ditahan menunggu giliran dibunuh.

Elizabeth Bathory 'The Blood Countess' meninggal di usia54 tahun.

Teen Fatal Car Crash/Accident 2 Teenagers dead October 1999

brains of teenagers are different than those of children and adults. New data confirms that this is the case. An article by Jay N. Giedd, MD, of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), published in the April 2008 issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health describes how brain changes in the adolescent brain impact cognition, emotion and behavior Novelty seeking, sensation seeking and risk taking is the basis for considerable reckless behavior of some adolescents.

I RODE PUSHBIKE, I WALKED, I CAUGHT PUBLIC TRANSPORT
THINK ABOUT IT

IMHO TEENAGERS SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING

The following information is from the Transport SA website READ IT

The number of young drivers killed or seriously injured in road crashes is a serious problem in all states of Australia. Young people aged 16 to 25 make up 13% of Australia's population but account for nearly 25% of road deaths.

Young drivers exhibit certain attributes that contribute to their higher risk of road crashes. These include:
* Lack of experience
* Risk taking behaviour
* The use of older vehicles with less safety features
* Speeding
* Peer pressure

Findings
* Young drivers aged 16 to 20 had the highest rate of all age groups at 150 casualties per 100,000 population (3 to 4 times higher than some)

* Drivers aged 21 to 25 had the second highest rate at 119 casualties per 100,000 population.
On average between 1999-2003, for drivers in the 16-25 year age group who were killed or seriously injured:

* 38% of drivers who were killed had a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .05 or above and 23% of drivers seriously injured recorded a BAC of .05 or above

* 13% were not wearing a seat belt

* 54% occurred on Friday, Saturday or Sunday

* 24% occurred between 4-5pm, 6-8pm or 12-1am

* 53% were on country roads and 42% on roads signposted as 100km/h or 110km/h

* 63% were male.

What types of cars were involved?
Australian research found:

* Young drivers often drive older, cheaper vehicles that are likely to have fewer safety features than newer vehicles

* most young drivers involved in fatal crashes were driving fairly ordinary cars

* very few were driving high performance vehicles.

Night driving
Young drivers are more likely to drive at night and on weekends than older drivers.

* 55% of young drivers aged 16-25 are killed or seriously injured in crashes that occur during the night compared with 37% of other drivers

* Nearly 40% of young driver serious casualties occurred on the weekend, compared with 30% for other drivers.

Driving at night has unique hazards and requires more developed skills. All drivers have an elevated crash risk at night. This is greater for younger drivers because of lack of experience and higher involvement in risk taking.

Driver fatigue may be a factor in up to 30% of fatal crashes and up to 15% of serious injury crashes.

Being tired while driving does not just concern anyone driving a long distance. It can affect shift-workers, parents/carers of young children who haven't had much sleep and also those with sleep problems. It is as much a problem for city as country drivers.
Researchers have found:

* driving after being awake for 17 hours brings a similar crash risk to a blood alcohol level of 0.05

* driving after 24 hours without sleep corresponds to a blood alcohol level of 0.10.

Three main causes of fatigue are:

* lack of sleep

* driving when you would normally be asleep * engaging in long, stressful or repetitive tasks before or during driving.

How can I avoid driver fatigue?

* Planning before you drive is the key to avoiding fatigue. Drivers and those who travel with them should:

* have sufficient sleep before a trip

* allow for regular breaks during long periods of driving, eg 15 minutes every two hours

* if possible, share the driving with someone else.

What do I need to look out for?
Often drivers do not realise they are becoming fatigued, but passengers can help them recognise it.

Watch for:

* impatience, lack of concentration or slow reaction times

* sweaty hands, hunger, thirst, stiffness or cramp

* wandering over the centre-line or road edge

* changes in driving speeds; or poor gear changes

* signs you are feeling drowsy, such as yawning

* sore, heavy eyes and blurred or dim vision

* droning or humming in the ears.

Heavy vehicle drivers
Fatigue is an important health and safety issue for heavy vehicle drivers. An Australian survey in 2000 found that 45% of long distance heavy vehicle drivers had experienced fatigue during their last trip.
